One Case At A Time
Integrative Health: The Medicine Of "Why?"
Conventional medical care is primarily centered on treating symptoms. This works amazingly well for acute issues.
However, if you are one of the millions of people with a chronic illness, conventional care frequently means taking a pill to mask the symptom, often creating side-effects that require additional pills.
Integrative medical care, or Functional Medicine, seeks to understand the "why" underneath symptoms. Once we know why you are sick, we can begin fixing the problem at the root; unlocking your body's natural ability to heal itself.
6-10 minute appointments just aren't enough time to understand a person.
Patient-centered care means giving you time to tell your story: 60-90 minutes for your first visit and a minimum of 30 minutes for any consultation.
It means looking beyond a single symptom to untangle the web of interrelated health issues that are at play with a chronic disease.
Finally, it means developing a plan that meets your individual health goals and requirements.
Innovation at CIH comes in many forms.
It starts with Functional Medicine Assessments and labs that provide broader and deeper insight into your health - providing data to understand what's really going on.
More than that, our team is actively involved in the development of the newest evidence-based treatments.
Wherever breakthroughs come from, it's our job to find them and bring them to you.
Collaboration starts the moment you call, with a team ready to listen and partner with you on your health journey.
Collaboration continues between the team at CIH and our network of functional experts in Chicago and across the country.
Finally, collaboration extends to your treatment protocols. Every human body is different, so every plan is tailored to the individual - mixing the most effective of conventional medicine with alternative and emerging therapies to provide the best plan possible.
Making the choice to fight a chronic disease is a big one - it takes perseverance and commitment.
One key is to surround yourself with a support team who believes you and believes in you; a team that is invested in taking the journey with you through its highs and lows.
Every member of CIH has been affected by chronic disease - whether personally or in support of a loved one. We understand what you're experiencing and can help you move forward.
