Thymosin Beta-4

The Wound Healing Peptide

WHAT IT IS:

When you get injured, your body begins healing by deploying thymosin-beta 4 (TB4) to the injured area. This 43-amino-acid peptide fragment is responsible for attracting stem / progenitor cells to injured areas, and enhancing the rate of angiogenesis (the process of forming new blood vessels from older ones).
This brings new blood flow to the wound, accelerating wound recovery. In addition, it suppresses the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines while simultaneously exerting anti-inflammatory effects.

Studies have linked higher levels of thymosin beta-4 to enhanced wound healing, accelerated scar recovery, and tendons and ligament strengthening. TB4 is also used to treat dry eyes, and early stage research is linking it to hair growth. Moreover, research indicates that TB4 can modulate tissue repair after a heart attack or brain injury.
